Season review
Watford's season ended with the eighth managerial departure of the Pozzo family's reign as Walter Mazzarri left his post after a year in charge. The Italian steered the Hornets to safety, but a run of just three wins from the final 15 games of the season sealed his fate.
A third consecutive campaign of Premier League football is a cause for celebration at Vicarage Road and there were also memorable victories over Manchester United and Arsenal, but few Watford fans will lament Mazzarri's departure.
A 5-0 defeat to Manchester City brought the curtain down on the season in grim circumstances. It's now up to the Pozzos to freshen things up and find the right man to take Watford forward.

I liked his passion but I cannot stand the fact he didn't bother to learn the language. I understand it's a global league but you need to ensure you're getting your message across exactly to players. Maybe he had an idea he was only coming in for a year.

Player of the year: Etienne Capoue
I think you've got to go with Capoue. The first third of the season is when Watford did their work. This has been Troy Deeney's worst season, although the style of play doesn't seem to suit him.
2017/18 prospects
If they don't find some kind of stability, I think it could take its toll. I expect there will be another big turnover in players. A lot will depend on their recruitment - and whether they can find the right manager.
