Watford have not given up hope of signing Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra, according to Sky sources.
Watford have already had one bid of £7.8m for the Argentina international rejected by the Italian champions.
The 25-year-old is known to the Watford's owners, who also own Udinese, who are one of Pereyra's former clubs.
Watford are keen to add a creative midfielder to their squad after allowing Almen Abdi to leave for Sheffield Wednesday.
The Hornets are also on the lookout for central defender before the transfer deadline at the end of August.
