An emotional Quique Sanchez Flores said he hopes to manage in the Premier League again after getting a rousing send-off from Watford’s fans at Vicarage Road.
Flores' final game in charge ended in a 2-2 draw against Sunderland as Sebastian Prodl and a Troy Deeney penalty cancelled out strikes from Jack Rodwell and Jeremain Lens.
The Spaniard has paid the price for a miserable second half to the campaign but Watford have finished 13th in the Premier League, their highest top-flight placing in 29 years.
Flores believes he has shown he has what it takes to be a successful manager in England and hopes to work here again in the future.
Flores told Sky Sports: "It is important because now everyone knows how I can manage and how I can lead the teams. Spain is Spain but England is different.
"It was important to adapt and now I know I am ready to come here someday. I hope to be here again."
Watford's fans showed their appreciation for Flores as he performed a lap of honour after the full-time whistle.
The Spaniard admitted that was an emotional moment for him and says he will look back on his time at Watford with great fondness.
"I have felt the support of the Watford all season," Flores said. "This moment is my last time in Vicarage Road and it is very emotional. I say thank you to the fans.
"The season in terms of the results is really good. I have enjoyed the experience. It was very important for Watford's future to stay in the Premier League.
"We have a very competitive team. Of course we need to think about the future but we have established ourselves in the Premier League with our results and we had the prize of the FA Cup semi-final so we had a lot of reasons to think this season was really good."
