Watford coach Quique Sanchez Flores was delighted with his side's 1-1 draw with Everton at Vicarage Road that ended a run of four Premier League defeats in a row.
The Hornets had lost to Arsenal, Stoke City, Leicester City and Manchester United in recent weeks, a sequence of results that had seen them fall down the table.
However, Saturday's hard-earned draw moves Watford to within just two of the magical 40-point mark and with it almost certainly Premier League survival.
"It is a fair [result]," said Flores. "We had very clear chances, Everton the same. We tried to keep the ball, but it was difficult at times.
"We ended up defending high, sometimes making good attacks and I think we mixed things well. And finally we got a point against a very good team."
Flores refused to criticise centre-back Miguel Britos, though, after the Uruguayan's error handed the visitors the lead in first-half stoppage time.
"We conceded one goal and it was very clear the action, but we always support these type of players," the Spaniard said.
"Britos played really, really well marking Lukaku with Cathcart, but this kind of mistake is something that happens of course. This is football.
"Everton have a very good team, we know perfectly well the power of their players. They have a lot of quality after playing together a lot, so it is always difficult to play against them. So for them it was very clear what their plans were.
"After our last defeat, to play against Everton today, the most important thing was to recuperate good feelings for the team. And I think we had legs and power, so that was very important for us."
