Quique Sanchez Flores takes positives from Watford's defeat to Swansea

Quique Sanchez Flores said Watford did not deserve to lose to Swansea, but took heart from their second-half display.

The home side dominated the opening 45 minutes and scored the only goal of the game when Ashley Williams headed home.

Watford improved after the interval but could not grab an equaliser as they suffered a fourth straight Premier League defeat.

"I think football has been cruel with us in the last few matches," Flores told Sky Sports. "We didn't deserve to lose today, but that's football, everything can happen, so you need to accept the result and improve for the next match.

"I'm disappointed with the result and first half we lost balance in a few areas, we suffered a bit without the ball and they had control.

"I was happy with the performance in the second half, we had high pressure, we created chances and the team came back with a performance. In the second half it was completely different."

After winning four games in a row between November and December, the Hornets are now without a victory in their last five Premier League games, losing each of the last four.

They are eight points above the relegation zone, but Flores thinks results will soon improve.

"We are working the same way but we are playing against teams with very good players," he said.

"It's not easy for Watford to win four consecutive matches, but we don't like to lose four consecutive matches. The target is not far away, it's close, and we just have to think about repeating the performance in the second half."
