West Ham have completed the signing of Croatia forward Nikica Jelavic from Hull City.
The 30-year-old successfully underwent a medical with the Hammers on Monday and agreed personal terms over a two-year contract, with the option of a further two years, at Upton Park after a fee of £2m was agreed, rising eventually to £3m.
Jelavic - capped 36 times by his country – will also link up with his former Croatia manager Slaven Bilic at West Ham after becoming the club's third deadline day purchase following the season-long loan arrivals of Alex Song and Victor Moses from Barcelona and Chelsea respectively.
"I am very excited to be signing for West Ham United, especially as it is a big club and I didn't know until a couple of days ago that I would have the opportunity to come here," he told the club's official website.
"Of course it is always a target to play in the Premier League, so when I found out that West Ham wanted me there was no doubt that I wanted to come here.
"I've played for Slaven before for the Croatia national team and he is a great manager and a great man. I am really happy and delighted to be working with him and all his staff again.
"I'll be joining a team that's on a high after the result on Saturday."
The former Everton striker joined Hull in January 2014 and scored 13 goals in 50 appearances for the club, but was unable to prevent the Tigers from suffering relegation from the Premier League last season.
The signing of Jelavic also takes the number of arrivals at West Ham during the summer transfer window up to 10, following the earlier acquisitions of Dimitri Payet, Pedro Obiang, Angelo Ogbonna, Carl Jenkinson, Manuel Lanzini, Darren Randolph and George Dobson.
West Ham could yet add to that number before Tuesday's 6pm deadline. Sky sources understand they remain in talks to sign Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor, but any deal for him must be made permanent as the club have already reached their quota for domestic loan players.
Premier League rules state no club can have more than two domestic loan players in their squad at any one time. Premier League sides can have only four domestic loans across a season and no more than one from the same transfer or club.
As well as Moses, West Ham signed Arsenal defender Jenkinson on a season-long loan in July.
