Liverpool profited from Sadio Mane’s goal despite James Milner clearly being offside in front of assistant referee Matt Wilkes

Liverpool benefited from a poor decision by the assistant referee to take the lead in their 1-1 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium.

James Milner was offside when he received the ball before passing to Sadio Mane, who opened the scoring.

The assistant referee appeared to be out of position in the build-up to the goal and allowed play to go on.

West Ham equalised just six minutes later through Michail Antonio, but could have suffered again at the hands of the officials in the final minutes.
