West Ham are interested in signing Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to Sky sources.
The Ivory Coast international, 26, has one year remaining on his current contact which includes a £35m release clause.
Sky sources understand Seri's preference is to move to a Premier League club and has also attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
West Ham will face competition from Napoli, with Seri's agent expected to fly to Italy in the next week to continue talks with the Serie A side.
Seri, who has previously spent time at ASEC Mimosas and Pacos de Ferreira, has featured over 120 times for Nice, scoring 11 goals.
Sky sources also understand the Hammers remain in talks over deals for Swansea defender Alfie Mawson and Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson.
New West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has already added to his defensive options this summer having signed goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski as well as defenders Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks.
