David Moyes says more players could leave West Ham in January

David Moyes says more players could still leave West Ham before the end of the transfer window.

Diafra Sakho completed an £8m move to Rennes on Monday and other players including Javier Hernandez and Andre Ayew, who the Hammers rejected a bid from Swansea for, have been subject to interest from other clubs.

When asked whether there could be any more players moving on before Wednesday's deadline, Moyes said: "Possibly. Possibly. You know the way football is, there's other people who we've had offers from clubs.

"But other than that, we're getting near the end and I think we'll all be glad when it's over."

A number of players have been subject to interest from West Ham, most recently Everton's Morgan Schneiderlin, Russia's Fedor Smolov, Graziano Pelle, and Fulham captain Tom Cairney.

Some West Ham fans confronted co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan after the Hammers were knocked out the FA Cup by League One Wigan on Saturday, angry that West Ham have only signed Inter Milan's Joao Mario on loan this month.

But Moyes says the board are working hard and admitted it had been difficult to find the right players.

"Of course they're doing as much as they can. They want West Ham to be as good as they can be," said Moyes.

"They're giving us the funds if it is for the right players available. As I've said it's difficult to get the right players, there's not been loads of transfers and if there have been, they've been extremely expensive ones as well.

The West Ham boss has not given up on making new signings, but he wants players who can make a difference to the 11th-placed side.

The club also have a depleted squad at present due to injury with a number of players sidelined, including Pedro Obiang, Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini, Andy Carroll, Ayew and Michail Antonio and Winston Reid.

"We had priorities and we still have. The priority is to add good players to your squad. What you don't want to do is add players who are just going to make a number up," added Moyes, ahead of West Ham hosting Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

"Ultimately we are short of players right now so we could do with adding some, but I'm not going to bring people in here who I don't think are going to make a difference to the team.

"It's a waste of money and also a waste of time as well. We want to bring people in who we think in some way think can contribute between now and the end of the season, if not longer."
