Sky Sports News HQ understands reports West Ham want to hold "crisis talks" with Dimitri Payet are way off the mark and the club are not concerned about comments he made to the French media.
The 29-year-old playmaker hinted he could leave the Hammers in the January transfer window during an interview with French television channel Telefoot on Sunday.
When asked about his future plans, Payet said: "We've had a very poor start. Leave in January? I'm asking other questions right now but I've closed the door to nothing."
Sky sources understand Payet's comments have been listened to by a translator and West Ham do not see them as an intention to leave the club.
Payet has been a star performer for West Ham since arriving from Marseille for £10.75m in June 2015, scoring 14 goals in 48 appearances.
West Ham rewarded Payet with a new five-and-a-half year deal in February, reported to be worth as much as £125,000-a-week, in a bid to stave off interest from potential suitors.
The east Londoners have won just three of their opening 11 Premier League matches and sit in 16th place, just a point clear of the relegation zone.
