Wigan have signed experienced goalkeeper Matt Gilks from Rangers on an 18-month contract.
The 34-year-old former Scotland international has joined the Latics for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
Gilks has Premier League experience with Blackpool and has had spells with Burnley, Norwich City, Rochdale and Shrewsbury.
"Matt adds competition to the squad and we are delighted to welcome him on board, he's a highly experienced keeper who has played in every division and knows the league inside out," Wigan manager Warren Joyce told the club's official website.
"We are delighted to have been able to secure his signature."
Gilks has been forced to play back-up to Wes Foderingham at Rangers this season, with his only appearances coming in the Scottish League Cup, keeping four clean sheets in his five games.
Rangers' singing of goalkeeper Jak Alnwick from Port Vale has also paved the way for Gilks' departure.
