Aston Villa goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was left with egg on his face when his skewed free-kick was fired in from 50 yards by Fulham's Floyd Ayite in their 2-0 defeat at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The Cottagers were 2-0 winners in the crunch promotion clash in west London, which ended a run of seven consecutive wins for the Villains and knocked them out of second place in the Sky Bet Championship.
Ryan Sessegnon put them in front seven minutes after the break before Ayite's stunner sealed the win, which moves Fulham within six points off the top two, having been as low as 15th in early December.
Slavisa Jokanovic's side travel to fellow play-off hopefuls Bristol City on Wednesday, a day after the Villains host Preston North End at Villa Park.
