Matt O'Riley has signed his first professional contract with Fulham on his 17th birthday.

The youngster has put pen to paper on a deal which will see him play his football at Craven Cottage until at least 2020.

O'Riley has represented England at international level, turning out for the U16 and U18 teams and made his senior bow for Fulham in the Carabao Cup in August.

O'Riley remained in first team training since and has now tied himself to the club on his birthday.

"Obviously this is one of the best birthdays I've ever had," O'Riley told the club's official website after signing his deal. "It's a great day for me and my family.

"I've been here since I was eight-years-old. This means a lot to me and I am just looking forward to kicking on now."

Fulham chairman Huw Jennings expressed his delight at the club securing one of their talents who has been brought through the academy system since the age of eight.

"We're really pleased that Matt has committed himself to Fulham with a three-year professional contract, and it builds on what has been excellent success for him already this season," he said.

"Matt's been with us since the pre-Academy days, he's seen a well-trodden path now from the younger age groups right the way through to the First Team," Jennings added.
