Raheem Sterling has met up with the young footballer he wrote a letter of support to, after learning of the racial abuse he had suffered.
Ethan Ross, a young Manchester City fan, received a letter from Sterling in January after his grandmother told the England international he had been having a "tough time".
The pair had a chance to meet up face to face when City travelled to Newport County, where Ethan plays academy football, in their FA Cup fifth round clash on Saturday.
"It was probably as heartwarming for me as it was for you to finally meet up, Ethan," said Sterling in a Twitter post.
"Again, always be proud of who you are, and never stay silent."
Last month, Sterling wrote to the boy suggesting him to "stand tall and be proud of you are", and attached a signed picture of himself.
"Don't let them take away your courage," he said. "You are strong and very brave, and your Nanna is also very proud of you. Keep being you kid.
"Remember speaking up doesn't always make life easy, but easy never changed anything."
