Pep Guardiola was left shocked to hear Benjamin Mendy had posted his location as Hong Kong on social media, as he was under the impression the Manchester City defender was in Barcelona.
Mendy, who is currently injured, posted an Instagram story of himself in a car with the location set at Hong Kong Airport on Friday morning, having posted images of himself in Barcelona just a day earlier.
Guardiola, however, was caught by surprise when a reporter brought this to his attention, but appeared to see the funny side.
Asked why Mendy is in Hong Kong, Guardiola said: "He's in Barcelona."
The reporter then informed Guardiola his player had posted that he was in Hong Kong.
Guardiola added: "Wow I didn't know that. F*** he is a lucky guy. Before he said he was going one day to Paris, but Hong Kong is far away. I don't know.
"I have to install Instagram because I don't know."
Asking the press officer, Guardiola said: "Did you know? You have to know!" He responded, "No". But then suggested he may not actually be in Hong Kong.
Pep continued: "Yesterday he was in Barcelona. No it's definitely not OK for him to be so far way."
However, the situation was cleared up by Mendy shortly after, but via his Twitter account this time.
He said: "I was joking with my Uber driver. I don't want no problems Pep."
