Manchester City full-back Danilo appeared to suffer an ankle injury during Brazil's friendly against Argentina on Tuesday night.
Danilo went down early in the second half and was replaced by Liverpool's Fabinho.
The 27-year-old had only returned from an ankle injury last month, and was forced to miss the majority of Brazil's World Cup campaign through a combination of ankle and hip problems.
Danilo has been limited to just one appearance for City so far this season, in the Carabao Cup against Oxford.
Pep Guardiola's side play Burnley on the weekend and have key fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur on October 29 and Manchester United on November 11, with both matches live on Sky Sports.
