Ederson says he wants to score for Manchester City before the end of the season.

Fans at the Etihad Stadium were chanting for the Brazilian to take City's penalty during their 5-0 thrashing of Swansea on Sunday, but compatriot Gabriel Jesus stepped up instead.

Jesus' spot-kick was saved by Lukasz Fabianski, but the rebound was converted by Bernardo Silva. Ederson, though, is adamant he would have found the net.

"If the manager had asked me to go there, I would have definitely scored," he said. "City have their regular penalty takers and we have good options, but if Pep asks me to take it, I'm there."

The last No 1 to score in a Premier League match was Asmir Begovic in 2014, with Peter Schmeichel, Brad Friedel, Paul Robinson and Tim Howard completing the five-man list of goal-scoring 'keepers.

"I'm not sure if I would be able to do set-pieces, but I'm good at penalties, either using power or technique when I'm shooting," Ederson added.

"Hopefully it will happen [before the end of the season], I'd like to score."
