Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has laughed off suggestions he might one day manage Real Madrid.
Guardiola became a superstar in the coaching world at Real's bitter rivals Barcelona, the club he also played for.
The 45-year-old won three La Liga crowns plus two Champions League titles in his four years in charge at the Nou Camp.
His autobiographer Marti Perarnau told Spanish radio this week that Real approached Guardiola to take over whilst Rafa Benitez was still in charge earlier this year.
But he laughed off suggestions he would ever consider sitting in the Real hot-seat.
He said: "I'm a follower of FC Barcelona. I don't think Real Madrid needs a manager like me and I wouldn't fit there either."
Perarnau told Cadena Ser: "Real Madrid called Pep Guardiola to try and tempt him last November, before they sacked Benitez.
"Madrid contacted [Josep Maria] Orobitg, Guardiola's agent, in order to try and contract him. But from the start it was out of the question. I was there."
