Alan McInally reflects on Manchester City's victory over Stoke
Saturday 20 August 2016 17:29, UK
Alan McInally reflects on Pep Guardiola's first away match in the Premier League as Manchester City visited Stoke City on Saturday...
The new City head coach watched his side secure a third win in seven days as Sergio Aguero and Nolito struck twice each in a 4-1 victory at the bet365 Stadium.
McInally believes referee Mike Dean got both penalty decisions correct, and was left impressed by new City signing John Stones.
"For me, the man of the match had to be Stones," McInally said. "He was a big-money transfer into a team full of internationals and apart from his booking, he didn't do one thing wrong in the match.
"The two penalty decisions from Mike Dean were good decisions, and Guardiola will be happy with the way Man City defended in the second half when they were put under pressure.
