Kelechi Iheanacho says Manchester City will fight Tottenham "to the final whistle" when the teams go head-to-head on Super Sunday.

City welcome Spurs to the Etihad having seen their Premier League title bid rocked by a 3-1 home defeat to leaders Leicester City last weekend.

As a result, Manuel Pellegrini's side are six points behind the Foxes and one behind Spurs on a weekend which also sees Arsenal play host to Leicester.

And Iheanacho is in no doubt about how important Sunday's round of fixtures could be in the title race.

"We have to treat it like a cup final and give everything we have in the game," the striker told Sky Sports News HQ. "They have quality players and are second in the league so we have to fight them right to the final whistle.

"Everyone is sad that we lost last week and we have to put that behind us and move on. History was made that day but it's not in our mind."
