Rafa Benitez has instilled belief at Newcastle United and there is cause for optimism at St James' Park, according to Thierry Henry.
The Magpies edged closer safety with a valiant 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The point moved Benitez's side to within a point of North East rivals Sunderland and to within two of 17th-place Norwich.
Newcastle's next game sees them travel to Benitez's former club Liverpool on Saturday and, speaking on Football Special, Henry believes the new-found confidence in the Toon camp means they have nothing to fear.
Asked if he thought there was an improvement from Newcastle and hope for optimism, Henry said: "Yes, definitely.
"They won a game and suddenly there is belief. They can build from the victory over Swansea and even more from the point against City.
"We know how hard it is going to be for them at Anfield but once you have that belief you can do anything you want.
"Newcastle are starting to look like a team managed by Rafa Benitez."
Newcastle ended a 12-game winless run on Saturday with their comprehensive 3-0 victory over the Swans.
Despite failing to convert several chances to overcome a strong Manchester City outfit on Tuesday, Niall Quinn was adamant the positive result continued the club's momentum in the race for survival.
"Momentum for Newcastle is huge, that's the point, the dressing room will be buzzing again," the Sky Sports pundit said.
"If Man City had nicked the win at the end it would have been so flat so the importance of the result cannot be underestimated.
"Now they've got to build up again, get their bodies right, train for a few days and go again.
"They can't look further than the next game - we can - they'll be trying to keep the whole thing going and hope they get something at Liverpool."
