Roberto Di Matteo insists he has the support of the Aston Villa hierarchy after his side went a ninth Championship game without victory.
The recently relegated side slumped to a 2-0 loss at Preston on Saturday - their third of the campaign - and a report in one national newspaper claims emergency talks have been held among the Villa board.
They are also still searching for a first win on the road for 14 months but Di Matteo has vowed to fight on despite a difficult start to life in the second tier.
"It's normal when results are not as expected that everybody questions - it's part of the job - but I've had total support from the club," the Italian said.
"There's a team here that is good, it will come good for us. We will keep working. I have faith in the team that, come the end of the season, they will be up there.
"It's been a bad day at the office for sure. We are 10 points from sixth place so it's still all possible.
"The first half was very disappointing and we gifted the two goals away. We had the ball and gave it them on a silver platter to score. Second half we came out stronger. Obviously we had the penalty at the end as well which we missed.
"We had some good half chances, we looked dangerous from corners.
"There is a big disappointment by all, and by the fans. It's really not good where we are at the moment and it's certainly a step back compared to the previous games. We have to try and revert it back and be better than we were again."
