Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish will continue to train with the club's U21 squad this week and is unlikely to travel to Southampton with the first team this weekend, according to Sky sources.

The 20-year-old was demoted to the club's development squad indefinitely last Monday after he was pictured in a national newspaper on two nights out the previous weekend.

Grealish was captured at a Manchester nightclub just hours after Villa's 4-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park then again at a Birmingham venue the following evening.

That came after he was fined by the club earlier this year having been pictured inhaling nitrous oxide in a hotel room.

Grealish was not part of the squad that lost 3-2 at Watford on Saturday and manager Remi Garde told reporters before that game that his conduct was "not professional or expected".

"English footballers have become more professional but you see young footballers wanting to live life all over, we forget in their brain they are 20."

"(Grealish's actions) are not of the professional (standard) that I expect from my players. That's why Jack is training in the U21 team."

Although it is understood the youngster has not been fined for his behaviour, it remains to be seen when he will make a first team return.
