Blackburn have signed West Ham defender Stephen Hendrie on a season-long loan.

Hendrie, a Scotland Under-21 international, is Rovers manager Owen Coyle's second summer signing following last week's arrival of striker Anthony Stokes.

"Rovers have secured the services of West Ham starlet Stephen Hendrie on a season-long loan," the club said on their official website.

"The dynamic defender will be hoping to continue his development and get further first-team experience under his belt over the next 12 months here at Ewood Park."

Hendrie progressed through Hamilton's youth system and made his senior debut for the club aged 16 in July 2011.

The left-back went on to make over 100 appearances for the Accies and joined West Ham for a reported £1million in July 2015.

Hendrie, yet to make the first-team breakthrough at West Ham, was an unused substitute in their Europa League qualifying matches against Birkirkara last season.
