Jan Vertonghen says Tottenham must be prepared for a reaction from Borussia Dortmund when the two sides meet in the Champions League last-16 second-leg in Germany.
Tottenham produced an impressive second-half performance against the Bundesliga leaders at Wembley to earn a commanding 3-0 lead before the return game at the Westfalenstadion on March 5.
Mauricio Pochettino's side secured their third consecutive victory against the 2013 Champions League finalists but Vertonghen is expecting a stern examination, as they look to reach the quarter-finals of Europe's top-tier competition for the first time since 2011.
"Dortmund's stadium is one of the most difficult places to go," Vertonghen told Sky Sports News.
"We have been there a couple of times over the last years. We are going to see a different Dortmund so we have got to be prepared for that.
"Obviously, the result helps - it is a great result and I think if we put the same mentality on the pitch as we did we have to go through."
Tottenham have been shorn of the influential pair Harry Kane and Dele Alli through injury - winning their last four league games in their absence - and the Belgium international believes their unavailability has helped further the squad's development.
"Obviously, both of them are goalscorers and very important in the dressing room," Vertonghen added.
"We won our fixtures in the Premier League, we left it late, but we won them and that gives us the belief."
Heung-Min Son continued his fine scoring form for Spurs with the opening goal on Wednesday - his ninth goal in 11 games against Dortmund - and the South Korea international is also refusing to believe the job is done.
"Today we won 3-0. We can lose 3-0 there as well. In football, it can change quickly. That's why we need to be careful," Son said.
"We want to go there with a winning mentality. We will go there thinking it is still 0-0 and to play to win the game. Then we will have a better result than thinking we are 3-0 already."
