Harry Kane handed Tottenham an injury scare after limping off at the end of their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
Kane went down clutching his left ankle with seconds remaining after competing for a loose ball with United duo Phil Jones and Eric Lindelof.
The England captain received treatment on the pitch after the final whistle and looked in discomfort as he hobbled towards the dressing rooms.
"We will assess him," Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino told Sky Sports.
"It was a bad tackle in the last moment. It wasn't their intention but it was a bad tackle.
"He is a little bit swollen and we need to assess it in the next few days. I hope it is not a big issue.
"It is worrying because we are going to lose [Heung-Min] Son to the Asian Cup, and if Harry Kane suffers some issue it is going to be a massive problem."
