Former Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has been taking his first steps towards becoming a coach.

Mason retired in February at the age of 26 after sustaining a fractured skull in a challenge with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill while playing for Hull in January 2017.

Mason, who made 70 appearances for Tottenham, has been assisting Tottenham's coaches with training across a variety of age groups on a voluntary basis and intends to undergo his coaching badges.

Speaking to Tottenham's website, Mason said: "I'm enjoying it. I've been in a couple of weeks now and it's a great thing to be starting a new chapter.

"I'm fortunate enough to be in a position where the club have offered their help so it was a no-brainer to come back in and get cracking with my badges. At the moment I'm just observing as much as I can."
