Mauricio Pochettino insists the "soul and the smell" of White Hart Lane will remain even when it is demolished to make way for Tottenham's new stadium.
Spurs will play the final match at their home of 118 years on Sunday when they take on Manchester United, live on Sky Sports' Super Sunday.
Pochettino insists the current structure - rich in history - is special but the sadness is laced with excitement towards a new era in their new 61,000-seater stadium being erected right next door.
But he said: "I am a very sensitive person and so emotional. It will be difficult not to cry.
"For me the most important thing is to know that always the heart of White Hart Lane, and soul and the smell, we will keep there.
"This type of stadium is difficult to describe the feeling and emotion. It is so special. You can feel and smell the history.
"It will be sad but, at the same time, it will be exciting too because we are all excited and welcome the new stadium.
"Usually when you move stadium you move to another area. You want to take the same route, see the same shops. We change nothing because it will be in the same place as White Hart Lane, which will be fantastic for the fans.
"The game on Sunday will be special for the fans, for the players and everyone who loves Tottenham.
"Afterwards, if I feel there is something special I need to take, maybe I will do, but not the manager's seat. It's too big. My wife will have a problem!"
Spurs were hoping to go into Sunday's game still with a chance at the Premier League title, but that all but mathematically disappeared after defeat at West Ham on Friday Night Football last weekend.
And Pochettino said: "We feel a little but disappointed about last week. It's difficult to shake off that feeling.
"To be honest it was difficult from Monday to Wednesday to be happy and be only focused on Manchester United, because we missed a big opportunity to put pressure on Chelsea. We wanted to fight until the end.
"It was difficult to lift everyone but now we are okay. We are focused and looking forward to playing the last game at White Hart Lane. There is many reasons to be focused and happy on Sunday."
