Mauricio Pochettino hailed his Spurs players as they put Bournemouth to the sword

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says Spurs have done their bit following a 4-0 win over Bournemouth - and must now wait to see if Chelsea slip up against Manchester United on Super Sunday.

Spurs maintained their unbeaten home run in the Premier League this season with another four-goal victory on Saturday as they closed the gap to four points behind their West London rivals.

While the Argentine manager was pleased with how his side performed, Pochettino says the game was all about getting points on the board in case Chelsea drop points in their remaining seven games.

"It was another great performance. I think the players deserve full credit for how they played and I think it was fantastic from us," he told Sky Sports.

"4-0 is a good result for us but the three points is more important to close the gap at the moment with Chelsea. Now we are waiting but I am very happy.

"It is important that everyone in the club is so excited and the fans are unbelievable. It is impossible to feel differently.

"Our job is done now and we got the three points. Now, we see what happens tomorrow [Sunday]. Of course it will be better if they [Chelsea] fade but now our job is done and we have to wait.

"We've said that if they fail, we must be ready and we will be there waiting."

It was also a good afternoon for misfit striker Vincent Janssen - who netted only his second Premier League goal and his first from open play - as he scored the fourth of Tottenham's goals, which led to a passionate celebration from his manager.

"I was delighted because I think when you are a striker and you only have five minutes to play, you want to accelerate the action and the game but the players who are playing for 90 minutes want to delay it, play slow and keep possession," Pochettino added.

"But you are a striker and you want to score and with chances that he had, it was important to score. Obviously it is important when you deserve to play that all the players believe and I think it was important for him."
