Christian Eriksen insists Tottenham still have a chance of winning the Premier League title, and says they have learned from last season's heartbreak.
Tottenham are seven points off leaders Chelsea with nine games of the season remaining, after the Blues slipped up at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
They go up against Swansea on Wednesday in south Wales, while Chelsea are at home to Manchester City, and Eriksen told Sky Sports his side still have hope.
"On paper we still have a chance, but we know there is a lot in-between. Nine games to go, nine very exciting games to go.
"If you lose some you are out of it, if you win some you are right in it. So of course it will be very tight.
"I think we are taking one game at a time, and then we will see.
"In our world at the moment we are focused on getting closer to Chelsea. We still have a few games to go."
Eriksen has been on fine form for Spurs this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting in 12, and also played a pivotal part in their title challenge last season.
Mauricio Pochettino's side fell short to Leicester last season after picking up just two points from their last four games, but Eriksen says the side have learned from their mistakes.
Asked if this season could go the same way as last, Eriksen said: "I hope not. I think we are doing everything we can, and I think we do not want to be in that situation again.
"I hope we have learned, and I think we have learned, from that situation. And I think we will put ourselves up better than last season."
