Mauricio Pochettino expects Harry Kane back in training next week, but Mousa Dembele's injury troubles continue.
Kane's recovery from damaged ankle ligaments is going to plan, according to the Tottenham manager, who could have last season's top scorer back in time to face Arsenal on November 6.
But Dembele is a doubt for Saturday's trip to West Brom after an incident in training left him with a recurrence of an old foot injury.
Suspension and hamstring trouble have restricted the midfielder to just one appearance this season.
Pochettino said: "He had a minor problem in his hamstring against Sunderland. Then it was good but he got a knock in his foot, an old problem, and now he's recovering from that.
"It was in training. It's minor but it's painful for him. When he touches the ball, it's painful for him."
Kane has missed four games after being injured against Sunderland last month, and Pochettino said: "At the end of this week, maybe he can start to train and touch the grass a little bit. He's very positive, he's doing well.
"We hope that next week he'll be training on the grass, on the pitch - still not with the group - but we're happy in the way he is recovering from his injury."
Spurs have coped well without Kane and Dembele since the Sunderland game, winning all four matches.
