Dele Alli admits Tottenham must be ruthless if they are to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
That figure set a new English club record for a home attendance and they witnessed Mauricio Pochettino's players dominate for much of the game but pay the price for sloppiness in defence and wastefulness in attack.
Alli knows they must improve in those areas if they are to progress from Group E, as they prepare to face CSKA Moscow in Russia on September 27.
"We didn't help ourselves in the first half," he said. "In the second half we dominated it but we weren't clinical enough.
"I think we did do enough to win the game, but unfortunately it wasn't our night.
"We need to make sure we learn from our mistakes and start games quicker and brighter. We need to finish strongly as well and be a lot more clinical."
Alli started the game in a deeper central midfield berth alongside Eric Dier but was far more influential when pushed further forward in the second half after Moussa Dembele had come on to replace Heung-Min Son.
Pochettino has previously used Alli centrally and on the left of the attacking three, as well as in a deeper role, but the England international stressed he is comfortable in any position.
"When I was at MK Dons I played all the games in centre midfield so it's not like it's new to me," added Alli. "I'm happy to play anywhere for the team."
