Georges-Kevin N'Koudou is training with Tottenham ahead of a move from Marseille, according to Sky sources.
The attacking midfielder has been working at Hotspur Way since Thursday after being given permission by Marseille as work continues to finalise the long-running transfer.
The two clubs were last week reported to have finally reached a renewed agreement for the deal, which would see N'Koudou move to White Hart Lane in an £11m deal and Clinton N'Jie move the other way on a season-long loan.
The deals have been held up by significant hierarchical change at Marseille, while Spurs' head of recruitment Paul Mitchell has also resigned in the meantime.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said on Thursday he hoped the club would sign up to three new players before the deadline, and it is believed N'Koudou is set to sign a five-year contract having already completed a medical close to a month ago.
N'Koudou is a France U21 winger who can be a threat off either flank and was spotted while the north London club were scouting striker Michy Batshuayi, who eventually joined Chelsea.
N'Jie, meanwhile, spent most of last season injured and has been warned he would face a tough task to get regular games at Spurs, which he needs if he is to recapture the promise he showed at Lyon that led to a £12m switch to White Hart Lane last summer.
