Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino hopes Leicester's loss of Jamie Vardy through suspension will have an impact on the Foxes' title challenge.

Vardy accepted an FA charge of improper conduct this week after being sent off against West Ham, for which he is banned from playing against Swansea on Sunday, and he faces a second suspension for the subsequent clash with Manchester United.

Spurs host West Brom on Monday Night Football, five points behind the Premier League leaders with four games to play.

"It is a big impact because Vardy is one of the best players in the Premier League," Pochettino said.

"It's normal it will affect them. They have a very good squad and have different players who can come in. They have different players who can play in another way.

"But we are in the race for the title and we hope they will drop points in the next game, to try to reduce the gap."

Tottenham thrashed Stoke City on Monday and Pochettino says the squad have been brimming with confidence all week, putting them in an excellent position to record a victory against the Baggies.

"The mood is fantastic on the training ground. It's impossible to get better motivation," he said.

"We have built up the week in a fantastic way and now we need to be patient and wait for Monday.

"We are very happy with the way that we are playing in the last few games. But we need to keep working hard and this is our objective. We are still fighting for the title."
