Mauricio Pochettino praised Tottenham's "perfect performance" after beating Manchester United 3-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Spurs had to react after title challengers Leicester won 2-0 at Sunderland to go 10-points clear earlier in the day, but three goals in seven minutes reduced that gap to seven once more.
And Pochettino was delighted with his side's reaction, and said the motivation to fight until the end of the campaign is "massive".
He told Sky Sports: "Yes, I think it was perfect the performance. Second half I was very pleased, very pleased, full credit to all the players, fantastic show. 3-0 against Manchester United is for us to be happy.
"We believe, and we still fight, the motivation is big, massive, and we need to try to get points and arrive at the end of the season with the possibility of winning the title.
"I think it's true we sent a message that we are there, waiting and fighting," Pochettino also told reporters after the game.
"If Leicester fail we need to stay there, it's important. Seven points is a difficult gap to reduce but we need to believe.
"The performance like today, and the result like today, showed that this team believes."
Manchester United had the better of the early stages, but quick-fire goals from Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela but the game well beyond the visitors, and Pochettino was happy with how his Spurs side grew into the game after a testing opening.
"Both teams fought a lot in the first half, both teams wanted to press and manage the game, and it was not clear who had the power to manage the game.
"But as it went on I think we went to dominate the game, start to find the space and create a lot chances."
