Dele Alli will have his ankle assessed on Wednesday before Tottenham decide whether to risk him for the visit to West Ham.

The 19-year-old England midfielder did train on Tuesday but produced a scare in front of the White Hart Lane faithful before Sunday's match against Swansea when he suffered an ankle injury in shooting practice.

He overcame the niggle with the help of the team doctor on the pitch and played the full 90 minutes with Spurs scoring two late goals to finally overcome the stubborn Swans and move within two points of Premier League leaders Leicester.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will be desperate to get the all-clear on Alli as the team look to build on their title aspirations.

Reflecting on Alli's injury picked up against Swansea, Pochettino said: "Alli had problems before and during the game. He's OK but we'll assess on Wednesday and decide."
