Harry Kane has said he was confident of scoring his hat-trick against Bournemouth and hailed Spurs' 5-1 win as one of their best of the season.
The England striker had scored just once before in the league this season but rediscovered his scoring touch in style, hitting only his second top-flight hat-trick.
Kane got Spurs back level with a penalty that he won in the eighth minute following the opener from Bournemouth's Matt Ritchie, adding two close-range efforts to complete his three-goal haul.
"There was no doubt I was going to take the penalty," Kane, who struck 21 league goals last season, said.
"I won it myself so I was happy to take it, step up there and get on the scoresheet. I was delighted to see it go in.
"As a striker, your confidence grows when you get one and two and I wanted to go after the third and fourth and fifth but I'm very happy with the three goals."
The result was Spurs' biggest of the season so far and sees them go up to sixth in the Premier League table, unbeaten in the league since their opening-day loss to Manchester United.
"We started a bit sloppy, they came racing out of the blocks and got the early goal but we showed our character to get back level straight after that and I think it was the turning point in the game," Kane added.
"If we let them keep the lead for too long, it would've been tough for us because they're not a bad side but we got the goal and the other two followed not long after.
"It's a tough place to come and they're no turnovers. Bournemouth play good football and we needed to be on top of our games which we were today.
"I think it's one of the best performances we've had all season and the scoreline showed that."
