Brett Pitman and Jamal Lowe both scored twice as Portsmouth thumped Fleetwood 4-1 at Fratton Park.
Captain Pitman broke the deadlock with a flying header four minutes before half-time after strike partner Lowe had crossed.
Fleetwood drew level against the run of play seven minutes into the second half as George Glendon's pass was headed back across by Lewie Coyle and Devante Cole made no mistake from 12 yards out.
The visitors' joy was short-lived, however, as Lowe nodded Pompey back in front from a corner just five minutes later.
Lowe claimed his second and Pompey's third 20 minutes from time with a superb solo effort, picking up the ball just inside the Fleetwood half before bursting through and firing home from an improbable angle.
Not to be outdone, Pitman completed his double with 12 minutes to play with a diagonal shot from the corner of the penalty area.
Fleetwood's misery was complete when Kyle Dempsey was sent off for a second booking on 85 minutes.
