Sky Sports News understands former Bolton head of science Mark Taylor is assisting a Chinese group who are interested in buying the troubled Championship club.

Taylor, who was part of Sam Allardyce's backroom staff at the club, has been working with a group connected with a Chinese Super League side for some months now and is hoping to introduce them to the club once it is put into administration.

The Chinese Super League club in question is thought to be Shandong Luneng, who signed Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United earlier this year.

There are likely to be other investors wanting to take over the club but Sky Sports News understands the group from China have demonstrated serious intent about getting the club back on the right road.
