Everton club captain Phil Jagielka remains hopeful of negotiating a new deal when he holds talks with the club within the next 10 days.
Jagielka, 36, came off the bench in stoppage time in their 2-0 win over Burnley on Friday Night Football for what could be his final game at Goodison Park.
The defender, who has made just seven appearances all season, sees his contract expire this summer, potentially bringing an end to his 12-year stay on Merseyside.
Asked if it was his Goodison Park farewell, Jagielka said: "The answer to that will probably come in the next ten days. I hope not, but obviously there is a possibility it could be.
"Time will tell and if not I will plod on and go and find somewhere else to go and play football.
"I look back and there has been some great moments. Hopefully there are some to continue but if there aren't then I can't complain.
"I have come to a fantastic club, they have been great with me. If it is the farewell game at home, so be it. I'll continue to play football for as long as I can."
