Sam Allardyce joins Pep Guardiola in Manager of the Month nominees for December

Everton boss Sam Allardyce is one of six Premier League bosses to be nominated for the December Manager of the Month award.

Allardyce has been nominated after a successful first month with the Toffees following his appointment at the end of November.

Everton moved clear of the relegation battle under the former England boss after taking 12 points from the month, which included draws against Chelsea and local rivals Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola has the opportunity to win the award for the fourth consecutive month after guiding Manchester City to six wins and one draw in December.

City hold a 15-point lead over their nearest rivals, Manchester United, at the top of the Premier League table after another unbeaten month in the Premier League.

Liverpool have also navigated the month without a single defeat. The Reds took four wins and three draws from their seven games to earn Jurgen Klopp a place among the contenders.

Antonio Conte has also been nominated after leading Chelsea to 16 points out of a possible 21 in December - the Blues suffering just one defeat against London rivals West Ham.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is among the six managers vying for the title after guiding Spurs to 13 points out of 18 in the month.

Roy Hodgson completes the line-up of nominees after guiding Crystal Palace out of the relegation zone with 10 points out of a possible 21 in December, including a commendable goalless draw against Premier League leaders Manchester City on New Year's Eve.

The winner of the award will be announced on January 12.
