Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth says midfielder Idrissa Gueye is set to sign a new contract at Goodison Park.
Gueye has established himself as an integral member of the team since joining from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016.
Unsworth said: "Gueye's contract is very close. It's great news for us because he's a top, top player. To tie him down here for a number of years is fantastic.
"He is a good guy as well, really humble and he is going to be a top Everton player."
Unsworth said he had no new information on the managerial vacancy at Goodison ahead of their Sky Live Super Sunday game at Leicester City.
