Ronald Koeman admits he still has not made a final decision on injured midfielder Ross Barkley’s future at Everton.
The England international sustained a suspected hamstring injury in training on Monday and Koeman says the Toffees are still trying to determine the extent of the damage.
"He stopped training last Monday. It looks like a hamstring injury but we need to do more tests today and tomorrow to know exactly what the injury is. We need to wait," Koeman said.
Barkley has one season remaining on his contract at Everton and has so far refused to sign a new deal.
Koeman had previously indicated the 23-year-old is likely to be sold if he does not commit to new terms but he admits the injury could complicate the situation.
When asked whether the injury will influence whether Barkley leaves, Koeman replied: "I don't know. I don't know. There is no update about his situation.
"I will wait until the end of August [before deciding whether Barkley will be part of his plans for this season]."
