Everton striker Romelu Lukaku misses Dubai trip because of calf injury

Romelu Lukaku has not made Everton's trip to Dubai with the rest of the squad because of a calf problem.

The Belgium international will instead return to his homeland later this week to have treatment on the injury.

But according to a statement on the official Everton website, the 23-year-old is expected to be available for the Premier League match against Sunderland at Goodison Park on February 25.

An Everton statement read: "Romelu Lukaku has been unable to travel to Everton's training camp in Dubai because of a calf problem which will require treatment.

"The 23-year-old striker will visit a doctor in Belgium this week, though the problem is not serious and he will be fit for the Blues' Premier League game against Sunderland on Saturday 25 February."

Lukaku and Yannick Bolasie, who is recovering from a long-term knee injury, were the only senior members of Ronald Koeman's squad not to make the trip to the United Arab Emirates.
