Everton boss Roberto Martinez was confronted by an angry fan during the 1-1 draw with Southampton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The man slipped past stewards and approached Everton midfielder Leon Osman before remonstrating with the dug-out shortly after Southampton's Sadio Mane cancelled out Ramiro Funes Mori's opener on 76 minutes
Stewards caught up with the lone pitch invader as he aimed a volley of abuse at Martinez, who has become the target of increasing criticism in recent weeks.
Martinez stood motionless in his technical area while the man, who was booed by the majority of the home crowd, was led away.
Everton have not won at home in the Premier League since early February and have managed just four victories at Goodison in the last 12 months, taking 17 points out of a possible 51 this campaign.
The incident is far from ideal preparation for a midweek Merseyside derby with Liverpool at Anfield followed by an FA Cup semi-final showdown with Manchester United at Wembley next Saturday.
