Everton are in advanced talks to sign Sam Byram from Leeds United, according to Sky sources.
Byram's departure from the Championship club has been anticipated after Leeds failed in their attempts to extend his contract, which expires at the end of this season.
There has also been public criticism from Leeds owner Massimo Cellino in recent weeks as negotiations stalled over a new deal at Elland Road.
The 22-year-old came through Leeds United's academy and has made over 140 appearances for the club in four seasons after making his debut in 2012.
Experienced Everton duo Steven Naismith and Aiden McGeady have been reportedly linked with moves away from Goodison Park this month, while Roberto Martinez has landed Grasshopper Zurich forward Shani Tarashaj.
