Petr Cech has defended Arsenal supporters' rights to voice their frustrations following another defeat at the hands of Manchester City.
The Gunners saw a repeat of Sunday's Carabao Cup final defeat at Wembley as they were beaten by the same 3-0 scoreline in the Premier League at home on Thursday.
Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Leroy Sane each put a goal past Cech before half-time, causing a section of fans to chant "you're not fit to wear the shirt" as the players left the pitch.
"I understand the frustration of the fans," the 35-year-old goalkeeper said after the game.
"You come and you want your team to do well, and when you are 3-0 down at half-time then you are not happy."
Sixth-place Arsenal are 10 points off the top four and face the prospect of missing out on Champions League football for a second successive season, unless they emulate Manchester United and win the Europa League.
With seven defeats from 13 games across all competitions in 2018, Wenger's position has again been put into question by unhappy supporters, who jeered their team at full-time.
"Everybody has an opportunity to make their feelings known. Football fans - this is their way of showing this. Second half we improved but the damage was done in the first half," Cech added.
