Ryan Giggs says whichever club Alexis Sanchez plays for is "extremely lucky" amid interest in the forward from Manchester United and Manchester City.
Sky Sports News understands United are willing to pay Arsenal's £35m asking price for Sanchez, whereas City are not prepared to pay more than £20m for a player who will be available for free at the end of the season.
It is also understood Jose Mourinho's side have prepared a package worth £18m a season for Sanchez to persuade him to move to Old Trafford - a deal City are unwilling to match.
Giggs, who was named as the new Wales manager on Monday and made over 950 appearances for United, believes Sanchez is a "top player".
Giggs said: "Whoever gets him, or whether he stays at Arsenal, they're lucky.
"He's not only a goalscorer, but he makes goals and works hard. So whoever gets him will be a lucky team because he is a top, top player.
"It doesn't happen very often where you're running down your contract, you've only got six months to go and you're able to get a player relatively cheap in this environment. But it is what it is, and like I said, whoever gets Alexis Sanchez will be extremely lucky."
