Arsenal are refusing to deny reports claiming they have agreed a deal to sign Sead Kolasinac from Schalke.
The Bosnia defender has less than three months remaining on his current contract and is yet to sign fresh terms to extend his stay at the Bundesliga club.
Sky in Germany understand agreement has already been reached between Arsenal and the player, who Sky Sports News HQ understands attracted interest from Premier League leaders Chelsea in January.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has previously insisted he is planning for next season despite uncertainty surrounding his own future at the club.
Wenger has less than three months remaining on his present contract at the Emirates and has yet to announce a decision on whether he will sign a new deal.
Kolasinac, a Schalke academy graduate, has scored four goals in 117 appearances since making his debut for the club in September 2012.
The 23-year-old was born in Germany and represented them at U18, U19 and U20 level before switching his allegiance to Bosnia.
He has since played 17 times for Bosnia's senior team and featured for them at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil - their first appearance at a major competition finals.
