Alexis Sanchez says his injured ankle is "much better" despite pictures showing severe bruising and swelling.
The Arsenal forward was the victim of a stamp early in Chile's Copa America final against Argentina but stayed on until shortly before half-time in extra-time.
Sanchez posted pictures of his ankle to social media in the aftermath of Chile's penalty shoot-out success and followed up with a further selection from his hotel room in New York on Thursday.
And despite some gruesome-looking damage, the message was a positive one for Arsenal supporters.
He wrote: "Fourth day of my vacation, locked up in the hotel bored hahaha.... But I'm already much better. Your body can endure almost everything...it is your mind that you have to convince."
Arsenal's pre-season takes in tours of the United States and Scandinavia before their opener against Liverpool on August 13.
Sanchez had a shortened preparation last summer following Chile's Copa America win but made a substitute appearance on the opening weekend despite Arsene Wenger admitting the player was not fit.
He later missed two months of the season after injuring a hamstring during a November 29 game at Norwich.
